Nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill is The Aberdare Country Club, just two-hour's drive from Nairobi and is a famous weekend resort for residents of Nairobi and beyond. The club’s 1,300- acre wildlife sanctuary abounds with Thopson and Grant’s gazelles, zebras, giraffes and the more reclusive leopards. The Aberadre Country Club is is a safe and beautiful place of unhurried charm set in a garden bursting with profusion of colour, with peacocks stalking the green bush lawns.
All the 107 guest rooms and cottages at the Aberdare Country club are comfortable with private bathroom facilities and have spectacular views of the plains below, the Aberdare Mountains to the west and Mount Kenya to the east. The club serves as a gateway to the popular 'tree lodge, The Ark, which is situated within the Salient of the Aberdare Mountains. Visitors usually stop over for lunch at the Club before they are transferred to the Ark. However, the Club is a delightful place to spend a night pre- or post-Ark. Besides its excellent reputation for generous hospitality and fine international cuisine.
