Kicheche Laikipia Camp is a small luxurious tented camp, nestled at the foot of indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole, in the centre of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. It's twelve guests are hosted by the inimitable Andy and Sonja Webb.

Accommodation

Kicheche Laikipia camp consists of six luxurious tents The tents are custom designed and are fully insect-proof with en-suite bathrooms equipped with a dresser, flushing toilet and hot showers. There are comfortable chairs on each verandah overlooking the waterhole. One tent can be converted into a triple on request. There is a spacious well furnished lounge and dining tent, although we prefer to eat alfresco if weather permits.

Location

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is 90,000 acres of wilderness and offers an incredibly uncrowded environment to enjoy quality game viewing. The Conservancy is home to Kenya's largest population of Black Rhino, large numbers of elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains game. There are also a number of rarer Northern species such as Grevys Zebra, Jacksons Hartebeest and Beisa Oryx. The Conservancy lies on the Equator 30 minutes drive from Nanyuki airstrip and affords wonderful views of Mt Kenya.

Activities

Kicheche Laikipia offer a full selection of game-viewing activities including:

  • Day Game Drives, Night Game Drives which focus on nocturnal species not seen on regular day drives.

Families with children under 7 years will be required to take a sole use vehicle*( see supplement below) unless there are 4 or more guests in the party when they will get one anyway. Please note that our camps are not conducive to infants and no baby equipment, such as cots and high chairs, are provided.

Rates Include; Airstrip transfers, unlimited shared game drives by 4WD vehicle, services of a KPSGA qualified driver/guide, bush walks,conservancy fees, full board accommodation, drinks ( excluding champagne) and laundry.
