Richard's Camp Kenya
Masai Mara Ol Choro Oiroua Conservancy
Richard's Camp is a tented camp where traditional African hospitality meets understated luxury. Positioned on the edge of a forest, overlooking the northern Masai Mara's short grass plains. Many species of wildlife are regular visitors to the camp. The Masai Mara National Park, together with Tanzania's Serengeti national Park, forms one of the world's most diverse and spectacular eco-systems. The camp is secluded and intimate, with 7 tents, perfect for small groups and family holidays.

ACCOMMODATION: At Richard's Camp there are 7 spacious tents and a beautiful & cosy sitting room with a roaring log fire. Each individually decorated tent has an en-suite bathroom and dressing room. There are 2 double rooms and 5twin rooms (most of which can be made into doubles). If needed there is additional tent, which has a double bed. All of the tents can be made into triples to accommodate children under the age of 16 years only (maximum of 6 extra beds in camp at any one time) and occasionally, if the children are very young, two extra beds can be added.Total Capacity: 14 guests (can go up to a maximum of 20 guests) Guide Tents: There is 1 guide room.

Masai Mara National Reserve
EXPERIENCE: The Masai Mara National Reserve, an area of about 1510 km², forms the northern tip of the 27,000 km² Serengeti / Mara ecosystem, where wild animals still roam freely and be seen in vast numbers. The Masai Mara offers wonderful scenery and an amazing abundance of wildlife. Every year it hosts what is now recognised as the greatest wildlife show on earth, 'the migration', which takes place between July and October.Over a million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebra pass through on their endless journey, following the rains in search of grass. Mammals: Lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, hippo, crocodile, antelope and gazelleare but some of the many species to be found. Birds: More than 400 species.
SEASONS: Richard’s Camp is closed in May & November. The Mara has warm days and cool nights with daytime temperatures between 24-28ºC. It cools down considerably at night, enough to warrant bringing a warm sweater and light jacket. We expect the rains twice a year in October/November (short rains) and late March – end of May. However it is spectacular at this time of year with dramatic storms, spectacular sunsets and very few people in the Mara.
ACCESSIBILITY: Getting to Richards Camp Masai Mara Kenya:
- By Road: About 4-hours from Nairobi through The Great Rift Valley.
- By Air: Daily scheduled flights with Safarilink & Air Kenya from Nairobi Wilson airport to Mara Ngerende airstrip, 20minutes from camp. There is an airstrip at the camp for private charters.
