Sabuk lodge is a remote and beautiful hideaway… an alluring haven on the edge of the
Northern Frontier District. With five double guest cottages perched on a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro river below, time
stands still and the haunting beauty of this wilderness spreads out before you.At Sabuk you can forget all about mechanised
transport commonly used in National Parks.There are no rules about staying in vehicles as you view game.Here in Sabuk yo see

for one or several days.
Trekking with the Laikipiak Maasai,
your professional guide will organise fly camping and walking amongst big game and shaded rest in the cool of the riverine
forests.
Sabuk lodge has 6 beautifully
furnished open sided en suite cottages, plus Eagle Cottages (a family cottage) which consists of 2 en suite
bedrooms, and a private seating / dining room with plunge pool. Both the lodge rooms and the cottage have their own
fabulous views. Sabuk was fashioned out of the local landscape, built with local materials, twisted wood and stone boulders
incorporated into the architecture. Open fronted and private veranda’s face out over the river gorge 150 feet
below.
Sabuk Fly Camp is perfect for clients spending 3 or more days. Walk with a
professional safari guide, a camel train and a team of trained Laikipia Maasai warriors through completely deserted tracts
of wilderness: no other tourists, no roads or vehicles, only wildlife and tracks, breathtaking scenery, the sounds of the
bush, Africa.

The camp has a daily set menu. Please inform us about any dietary requirements prior to arrival. Guests that have booked to
arrive before Lunch, but do not, are charged for an extra lunch on their day of departure
Sabuk’s
community development schemes and eco-preservation projects:
For every guest that stays at Sabuk, the lodge pays the Nalare Community a bed-night fee.
The lodge is very much involved
with a local primary school. It has helped build a house for four teachers, who were specially brought to the school, has
fenced the school and provided shelves and learning materials for the children, it has introduced sports (football, etc.),
has paid for two educational tours, it funds a 5th teacher, who comes from nearby, and pays for exam fees. It has also funded
school furniture, a solar panel & battery, a computer, some food, and there are future plans for building a school kitchen,
more classrooms, and a teacher’s block.
Sabuk in collaboration with guests has funded the installation of two fresh water boreholes
for the local area.
Guests are able
to visits nearby manyattas, which is included in the lodge’s fees. These visits help to support local craftwork,
and allow guests to appreciate the local customs and cultures. Guests also have the opportunity to watch traditional dancing,
etc. at an extra fee.
All the Sabuk
staff are from the local Samburu community.
